Justin Boroughs: Auckland - Taranaki - Lake Dunstan / 16 June - 10 July 2010

John Leech Gallery is proud to present Auckland - Taranaki - Lake Dunstan, an exhibition of ten new paintings by Justin Boroughs.
Boroughs has become well known for his lush representations of recognisable New Zealand land and seascapes.  With subject matter and the effects of colour and light subtly manipulated Boroughs imprints his own interpretation on such scenes, causing the viewer to see each location in a new way.
Following his graduation from Elam School of Fine Arts in 1975 Boroughs initially worked as a photographer, a skill that clearly informs the photo-realist appearance of his paintings.  In this exhibition Boroughs continues to portray skies, landscapes and seas with characteristic precision.
